WANGANUI AFFAIRS METROPOLITAN UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The weekly meeting of the Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union was held last night, there being present Messrs. A. Danielson (chairman), H. Whiting, H. Dyke, L. Southcombe, A. Takarangi, T. Hurley, A. Lockett, J. Cotterill, W. R. McElwain and C. S. Swan (secretary). The application for the reclassification of R. Ropata (Aramoho) was granted and that of M. Ratana (Kaiwhaiki) was deferred. On the report of the sub-committee regarding the inquiry into the suspension of Meremere, a Ratana player, it was decided that he be permitted to play, having stood for two Saturdays, provided an apology be forthcoming. Apologies were received from both player and club. It was decided that Rangitikei be informed that the Metropolitan Union could not sec their way clear to play a match at Marton on Wednesday, May 24, but a match would be arranged later in the season.
