WEDDING

BARNES—WELLARD. A very pretty wedding was solemMr. John Barnes, of Fordell. The offionly daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wellard, Wanganui, was married to Arthur Cyril, son of Mrs. and the late boll. Miss 0. Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. H. ciating minister was the Rev. 11. Spencer. Nliss Grace Blackie played the Bridal March. The ceremony, was held at tho residence of the bride’s parents, 42 I.’ffiton Street. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of ivory angel skin lace, the sleeves being tight-fitting with puffs at the elbcftv. She wore her mother’s veil, which was of Brussels lace, and carried a sheaf of white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. She was attended by Miss Dulcie Brown as chief bridesmaid, who wore old gold satin with cape to match, and Miss Gwen Earnshaw wearing apple green angel skin lace and net. Both carried Victorian posies in autumn shades. The bouquets were made by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Bruce Barkman. The bride and bridesmaids wore rock crystal necklaces and earrings, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Victor Barnes (Marton) as best man, and Mr. Errol Wellard (Karioi) as groomsman. After tho ceremony a reception was held. Mrs. Wellard, mother of the bride, wore a model gown of floral georgette with smart cinamon brown hat, and carried a bouquet to tone. Mrs. Barnes, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black costume and hat to match; her bouquet was of violets. During the interval before the reception the guests wore entertained with songs and duets by Mrs. Victor Barnes, Mrs. V. R. Earnshaw, Mrs. A. E. WclLard. The wedding cake was made and given by Airs. Campbell, Fordell, sister of the bridegroom. Guests present were: —Mrs. G. M. Earnshaw (Wellington, Air. and Airs. Bruce Barkman, Airs. V. R. Earnshaw (Wellington), Air. and Airs. G. Barnes, Mr. and Airs. Al, Barnes, Air. and Airs. V. Barnes, Air. and Airs. R. D. Campbell, Aliss O. Barnes, Air. and Airs. H. Campbell, Air. and Mrs. Piper, Air. and Airs. Walton, Mr. and Mrs, R. Thayer, Airs. ’ Nicholson, Airs. Lamb, Airs. Spencer, Airs. Young, Airs. Everett; Misses May, W. Gordon, V. Piper, Al. Stevens, G. Blackie, J. Seaward; Messrs. J. and A. Barnes. The bride’s travelling costume was of Lido blue, with felt hat to match, also a tailored grey tweed coat with squirrel collar.
