Worth Recollecting.

Conjurer 11, who won the Century Hurdles in 1931, showed consistent form in the hurdle races at South Canterbury and he will have to be reckoned with in other events during the winter. P. T. Hogan is never so happy as when he has a jumper under his care, and it will be very popular if he gets a good stake with this well-bred Australian gelding. Little Doubt.

The track at Hawera suited Little Doubt, who ran a good race in the open six furlongs event each day. He competed in these events last year before going on to win at Wanganui. He looked bright and well last week and if brought to Wanganui he should be capable of giving a good account of himself. Though far from being reliable he usually shows his best when the tracks are soft. His owner, Mr. A. O. Casey, has not been experiencing much luck for some time and a win for this son of Antagonist would be popular.

May Have a Spell. On Thursday morning at Hawera Diagano (Feasey) and Aga Khan (Duncan) were to have gone half a mile together but the former broke away just after reaching the five furlong post. Aga Khan followed him at an interval of several lengths and although he made up some of his leeway he was still a couple of lengths behind his half-brother at the end. The half-mile occupied 54 3-ss. and both horses moved freely. Owner-trainer C. Jackson intends to spend a holiday at Sydney very shortly and he may not take either of his horses to Wanganui, states the Taranaki Daily News. In this case they will be spelled until his return. Ammon Ra for Australia

Another campaign in Australia has been decided upon for Ammon lia, and, unless present intentions are altered, he will be shipped from Auckland 4o Sydney about the end of the month. Ammon Ba has been located at Cambridge for some months under the care of W. S. Jarvis, who will in future train him for his races. The Limond four-year-old was off colour after racing unsuccessfully in Melbourne in. the spring and it was deemed advisable to send him to New Zealand for a spell. He is reported to be in fine trim to begin another preparation and much interest will be centred in his form when he is read}’ to race again.

Without a Stipendiary It may have been owing to the shipping strike or sonic other reason, but at the. recent Nelson Jockey Club meeting, according to a Christchurch report, there was no stipendiary steward in attendance. According to a visitor the, racing went off smooth!v and there was no reason to call the judicial committee together.

Owned in Wanganui A report from the other side of the Tasman states that Prestige has been loft to be given one more chance of earning something toward her keep be fore being sent back to her owner, Mr. John Donald, of the Westmere Stud.
