At the West Australian Turf Club’s meeting at Perth on April 29 and May 1, tho New Zealand-bred mare Valpre (Chief Ruler—Valeric) scored a dov On the opening day she won tho Karridale Handicap, six furlongs, and on the second day won the concluding event, tho Welter Handicap, one mile. On the second occasion she survived a protest. Another New Zealander to win on the second day was Childstudy Psychol o gy—P a oan u i). High Comniissioneer. High Commissioner was one of the early defections from the Great Northern Hurdles, being scratched at .11 a.in. on Friday last.
