ST. JOHN’S WINTER CLUB OPENING TO-MORROW The official opening of their wintc) season will take place next Saturday on the St. John’s Club’s hard courts. From 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. only combined douh'cs will be played. Members are requettod to invite lady players from other clubs. All new and intending winter season members are cordially invited to attend the opening. At a committee meeting last Mon day die following now members were elected: Misses Z. Lloyd, T 1 Doig. Hogg and S. Richardson, Messrs. Cal lahan. G. Laing, Gray, Dickie, A Pike. C. Gardiner and J. Cronin. In the final of the club’s champion ship singles H. Cox defeated L. Udy G—4, 6—4, 6—2, ana this week-end Miss M. Purcell will nicer, Mrs. I). Smith in the final of the ladies’ championship singles.
