APPEARANCE IN COURT MEN CLOSELY GUARDED [ Per Press Association. } GISBORNE, May 11. Handcuffed together and closely guarded, two men who escaped from Gisborne gaol on April 29, Norman Alfred O’Mdftra and Wilkin Rainsdon Avery, appeared before Mr. Hewitt. S.M. They pleaded guilty to several charges of theft and breaking prison. They were sentenced to one month’s imprisonment each on the theft charges, and the hearing of the charge of gaol breaking wf»s deferred.
