SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS OPEN EVENTS AT BALL GLACIER. [ Per Press Association. 1 TIMARU, May 11. The principal events at the first secondary schools’ ski championships held in New Zealand commenced to-day at Ball Glacier, Mount Cook. Waitaki won the inter-svhool competition, with Christ’s College second. The champion of champions was A. Borrie, McGlashan College. Auckland, with 8, Thompson, Christ’s College, second. Borrie won the New Zealand secondary schools’ Langlauf championship, Thompson the Downhill championship, and D. Gordon (Waitaki), the Slalon ‘championship. There were 32 competitors in each events, the conditions being excellent. Results:— Slalon Race. —D. Gordon (Waitaki) 1, 8. Thompson (Christ’s) 2, R. Hudson (Waitaki) and A. Borrie (McGlashan) 3, equal. Downhill Championship.—B. Thompson (Christ’s) 1. Tnckey (Waitaki) 2, D. Gordon (Waitaki) 3, E. Walker (Otago) 4. Time, 2.23. Langlauf Championship.—A. Borrie (McGlashan College) 1, C. Gilray (McGlashan) 2, E. Walker (Otago) 3, C. Stewart, (McGlashan) 3. Time, 10.50. Inter-stehools’ points are: Waitaki 2785, Christ’s College 2615, McGlashan A and Otago High. Individual Championship. Borrie (McGlashan) 1, Thompson (Christ ’s) 2, Gordon (Waitaki) 3.
