The Wanganui-Rangitikei Electricpower Board placed on record yester day its appreciation of the services rcuddcd by Air. John Alorrison, senior member of the board, and Air. A. E. Halligan, who were not returned at the recent election. Air. Al. H. Oram, of Palmerston North, a member of the Wanganui Education Board, is to leave for Eng land shortly on an extended visit. A Wednesday’s meeting of the council oi the Palmerston North Chamber oi Commerce, of which he is president liq was granted six months’ leave oi absence. Guests registered at Spriggens’ Hotel include. List, Governor-nominee of Rotary in New Zealand, will leave by tho Maunganui on Tuesday next for San Francisco, en route to the Governors’ Conference at Poland Springs, Maine, and afterwards at the International Conference at Boston. On May 30 Mr. Frank Milner, who will give the principal address to the conference on “World Affairs,” having been specially invited by Rotary International to do so, will leave by the Aorangi for Vancouver and thence will proceed to Boston. It is expected that Rotarian Milner will deliver a series of addresses on the international situation in the various States of America under the auspices of American Rotary.
