Tho new transport regulations have not been received with any degree of warmth by farmers in the Wanganui and surrounding districts up to the present time, but in order that their import might be made dear, tho Com missioncr of Transport has addressed meetings in Taihapo, Marton and Won gunui within the pa.«t few days. Accompanied by Mr. A. Stuart, M.P., h-' spoke at Wanganui yesterday, address ing a large gathering of farmers and carriers. Tlis remarks were well re ceived and his explanations were satis factory to the farmers especially.
