Race Millinery. The new winter hats, just unpacked ready for the races at Miss Bringezu’s Millinery Showroom, 50 Victoria Avenue (upstairs), show infinite variety in types and treatment of trimming. The turban hats of velvet are swathed, crushed and twisted into jaunty shapes and adorned in smart ways. Some are finished with very becoming eye veils which fall softly all round the hat. Some pretty colour combinations are seen in these velvet models—a soft shade of grey being allied with maizegold. The softest felt is also used for the toques and small brimless hats. But brims play an important part on many of the smartest models seen on the various stands in the showroom. Very effective are tho few seamed models, the insets of colour forming the only trimming. There aro models that have straight upturned brims at the back of the hat and trimming is placed here with smart results. Individual detail is a feature of the new millinery and the shapes ar® so varied that there is no difficulty in choosing styles to suit everyone. There are all shades of blue, burgundy, new browns and greys, also parma violet shades and these include largo head fittings.
