SAMUEL FURNACE’S £29
MONEY FOR THE WIDOW. By a reserved decision, Mr. Bingley, the Marylebone magistrate, has determined the rival claims to the £29 found on Samuel James Furnace when arrested for the murder of Waiter Spatchett. Since Furnace’s suicide the money has been held by the police. Mr. Bingley held that the £29 must go to Mrs. Furnace, the widow. Spatchett, a rent collector, is alleged to have been murdered and robbed by Furnace in a shed at Camden Town, which was set on fire. Ten days later Furnace was arrested at Southend, and the following day he commit ted suicide in a police cell. Mrs. Furnace claimed the money as belonging to her late husband. Messrs. Westacett, estate agents, of Camden Road, and Spatchett’s employers, also claimed the money as being part of that stolen from Spatchett at the lime r of his death. **ln my opinion there is not sufficient evidence on which I can find that this particular money found npon Furnace belonged to Messrs Wcstaeott.” remarked Mr. Binglev in giving his Incision.*-
