GENERAL NOTES. A very pleasant evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Rose on Wednesday evening, the occasion being to welcome Mr. A. Jones, who has recently come as Methodist minister to this district. The evening was spent in playing games, and musical items were given by Mesdames R. Rose and Hodge, and Misses J. Marshall and P. Cameron. Recitations were given by Mrs. G. Rose and Mr. F. Bloomfield. During the evening Mrs. Rose called upon Mr. Jones to accept an assortment of jams, pickles, etc., which she said she hoped he would find useful. Mr. Jones suitably responded. Those present included: Mr. and Mrs. G. Rose, Rev. A. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Rose; Mr. and Mrs. L. Rose, Mrs. J. Rosa, Mr. and Mrs. K. Searle, Mrs. Hodge, Mrs. Shearson, Mr. and Mrs. C. Moess; Mrs. Carey, Misses A. McKenzie, P. Hodge. B. Wood, D. Kraver. P. Cameron. A. Boshier, M. and J. Ireland, and J. Marshall; and Messrs. F. Bloomfield, A. Hodge, J. Carr, J. Boshier. C. Bailey, A. Hodge. F. Gibbons, W. Johson, S. Mocss, and A. Ireland. N.G. Sis. A. Carey presided over the usual good attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal M.U.1.0.0.F. Lodge, hold on Wednesday evening. Business was degree lecture and general. Intimation was received of the proposed visit of the D.G.M. Bro. Miller, to the lodge on May 17, when a full attendance is desired. The first nf a series of card tournaments to raise funds for the tennis club, was held on Saturday night. The successful players were: Miss D. Collie and Mr. J. Edwards. Consolation prizes were won by Miss A. More and Mr. C. Bailey. Playing at Waituna on Saturday, the senior team, afer a very hard game, were defeated by 9 points to 5.
