SHIPPING STRIKE
KAPITI AT WANGANUI. VESSEL LOADED WITH WOOL. The shipping strike which is affecting ether ports has not yet made its appearance in Wanganui, chiefly on account of inactivity on the wharves in this centre. On Thursday there were no vessels in port, while yesterday the Kapiti was the only boat to arrive. There was no suggestion of striking and wool was loaded during the afternoon. Owing to unfavourable weather conditions the vessel did not sail foi Wellington, but was delayed until today. Wanganui is. however, being affected by the strike insofar as vessels due to arrive here from Wellington have been delayed indefinitely. The Gale and the Holmdale were due yesterday but until such times ns n settlement is reached their arrival in Wanganui is uncertain. The Storm, which was expected here on Alonday. has also been delayed at Dunedin. It is reported by Messr>. Johnston and Co., however, that weather permitting, the Hauturu would arrive in "Wanganui to-day but on account of the conditions experienced on tho coast it is probable that she will not be here until Monday.
