THE WOOL YEAR

INCREASE IN SALES A REDUCED CARRY-OVER. Speaking at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Woolbrokers* Association yesterday, the president (Mr. A. E. Mabin) referred with satisfaction to the “most pleasing feature” of the Dominion sales, namely, that 563,505 bales were sold as against 468,256 bales the previous year, an increase of 95,249 bales. This i,together with the shipment of an unkown quantity of old wool, he thought, should reduce materially the carry-over of 210,000 bales of greasy wool on July 1 last. The salient features of the New Zealand W'Ool sales he summarised as under:— 1930-31 1931-32 1932-33.
