A country woman sends the follow ing remedy for whooping cough, which she has found very effective, in dealing with so distressing a complaint as it. is. She writes: —“Cut, a large onion into slices, place in a basin and cover with several large spoonsful of sugar. A liquid will form after a few hours and an occasional spoonful will give relief and eventually will cure. Tho basin should bo covered with a plate. The remedy has worked wonders with my children. ’ ’
