HUNTERVILLE

MOUNTED RIFLES DANCE. The local troop of the Manawatu Mounted Rifles held a most successful dance in tho Town Hall on Tuesday night. Excellent music was supplied by Messrs. Potaka and Down, while extras were played by Miss Shackleton, and Messrs. Indor and Husband. Novelty dances were won as follow:—Monte Carlo, kliss Wilton and Mr. Inder; spot waltz, Miss Morrison and partner; competitions resulted: Turkey, Mr. N. Moffatt; potatoes, Mr. T. Horn. The duties of M.’sC. were carried out by Sergeant Butemcnt and Corporal Abel. An excellent supper was dispensed under the supervision of Mesdamos F. J. Butemen, J. M. Abel, K. Dalzicll, and F. Shackleton.

During the evening Air. T. Brunton presented Trooper C. Stephenson with the cup won by him as tho best shot in tho troop. Tho cup was donated by Mr. Brunton as a trophy for this purpose.
