HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETINGS. There was a large attendance of householders in Bulls on Monday evening, and 12 nominations were received for seven scats on tho School Committee. Messrs. R. J. Carter and C. H. Thorby acted as scrutineers, and the following were elected: Messrs J. Campion (chairman), A. C. Lane (secreary), Wm. Dean, F. F. Ralfe, H. H. C. Holland, Joseph Ellery, and S. Rich. Mr. Campion, in his annual report, regretted that they had not balanced the budget, but tho overdraft had been (reduced. The school had been reduced a frade, and now had only three teachers. Ho referred to the great work done by Mr. W. H. Olson, who had’left during the year, and welcomed the new headmaster, Mr. W. A. Churchill, and Mrs Churchill. He thanked helpers at the school ball, concert and card parties; also the Women’s Institute for offering to carry on the cookery classes; and Mr. C. H. Thorby and Mr. Fred Thorby for keeping the woodwork classes going. In conclusion, he referred to th.e help given by members of the retiring committee. Mr. W. A. Churchill reported that the attendance on February I. 1932, was 108, and the present roll was 107. He referred to various visits made to the school by heads of the Wanganui Education Board, and also thanked the Women’s Institute and Messrs. Thorby for their good services. The pupils had won the Vile Shield, but finance would be difficult when it came to playing football and basketball competitions. Scripture lessons were held weekly, and Captain Mitchell had addressed pupils and parents prior to Anzac Day. There were only five boys over the ago of 12 years in the school, and assistance would bo required in keeping the fine grounds in order. A flag 500 tournament was held afterwards, the winners being Mr. and Mrs. and Miss McGregor, and Mr. L. V. Homes. Supper concluded a successful meeting. Parewanui. There was a fair attendance of householders at Parewanui, and the following committee was appointed: Mr. Mitchell (chairman), A. J. Montgomerie, Brown, H. Bowen, and O. Reid. Ohakea. Attendance fair. The new committee is as follows:—Mr. F. O. Bailey (chairman), H. Ellery (secretary), H. Masters, A. Hartley, and J. Capstick. Glyneath. No meeting was held, but the chairman (Mr. W. Guy) reports that the old committee will carry on as usual. LODGE MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of Rangitikei Lodge No. 14, 1.0.0. F., was held in Bulls on April 28, N.G. Bro. Harris presiding over a very good attendance of members. Correspondence was received as follows: —From Grand Lodge, forwarding quarterly circular dealing with new lodges opened, membership, Grand Lodge of Australasia session, and annual returns. From the Friendly Societies’ Board, requesting that members’ names be sent in as early as possible each quarter, and advising that the next meeting of the board will be held on May 3. One candidate was initiated. P.G. Bro. Mansell reported on district lodge meeting held in Rongotea on April 18, and P.G. Bro. Cooper conveyed fraternal greetings from Kopane Lodge. General.—lt was reported that a hot point and switched had been fitted in the supper room ,and necessary repairs effected. DUCK SHOOTING. Limit bags were the order on the larger lakes in this district, and fairly good bags were secured elsewhere. Rangers and deputies were very busy on Monday, and it is reported that several shooters failed to produce their game shooting licenses. RUGBY. Bulls juniors travel to Marton to-day to play Athletics, and on Saturday Bulls and Halcombe seniors meet at Bulls. Ohakca and Rongotea seniors meet at Rongotea on Saturday, and Ohakca and Sandon juniors at Ohakca. BULLS M.R. CLUB.

Mr. R. Hart has donated silver medals for rhe highest score off the rifle, to be shot for weekly by seniors and juniors, and the respective winners were C. M. Broughton and N. Amon. Monday night’s scores:—
