Forecast. —Winds: West to south, strong to gale force. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough generally with a heavy southerly swell. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong south-west to southerly winds to gales; seas rough with a heavy southerly swell. Weather: Cold and squally with heavy showers at times'in most districts, hail in places and on the high levels ' snow. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 6 hours 20 minutes. Rainfall, .03 inches. Shade temperature: Maximum, 60 deg.
