THE POSTPONED MEETING RIB I WINS BIG HANDICAP [ Per Press Association. ] GREYMOUTH, April 24. The Greymouth Jockey Club autumn meeting was held in fine weather before a good attendance. The track was heavy after the rains, which caused the postponement from Saturday. The inaugural win and place totalisator system saw £4542 handled, compared with £4940 on the corresponding day last year. Results:— Novice Stakes. —2/3 Arrowrose (A. Mcsservey) 1, 3/2 Nocturnus, 8.13 (A. E. Ellis) 2, 1/1 Silver Sight (Jennings) 3. Also; 4/5 Lady Valkyrie, 6/6 Knockany, 5/4 Sir Leighton. Length; neck. Time, 1.12 2-5. Mawhcra Trot.—2/3 Plain Pearl (F. Scott) 1, 3/2 Queen Author (F. Lynch) 2, 8/9 Admiral Wrack (Kearns) 3. Also: 10/10 Dawn Sonoma, 1/1 Ezywurk, 9/8 Lorelei, 7/6 Major Brent, 3/2 Royal Time (bracketed with Queen Author). 4/5 Shawingan, 5/4 Glengowrie, 5/7 Rey Spec. Half a length; four lengths. Major Brent was fourth. Time, 3.19 3-5. Stewards’ Handicap.—3/3 Shootist (Robinson, 7.12) 1, 4/4 Solvear (Kirwan) 2, 2/2 Arrowmid (Jennings) 3. Also: 1/1 Knockalong, 5/5 Jael. Length and a-half; length. Time, 1.25. Hannan Memorial.—2/2 Riri (A. E. Ellis) 1, 3/3 Flower (Robinson) 2, 6/5 Rational 11. (Kirwan) 3. Also: 1/1 Fleeting Glance, 5/6 Coomassie, 7/7 Gold Bag. Length; two and a-half. Time, 2.12 4-5. Always handy to the pacemakers, Eaton Hall and Flower. Riri moved up at the last turn and led into the straight from Flower and Fleeting Glance. Flower issued a strong challenge but Riri went on to win by a clear length.
