THE SYDNEY SALES Received April 25. 5.5 p.m. ■SYDNEY, April 24. At the wool sales 10,237 bales were offered, 8383 being sold at auction and 2302 privately. The market main tained its firmness for all descriptions. There was a very strong demand from Yorkshire and the Continent and also increased Japanese competition. Greasy Merino sold to 151 pence. The average price of wool auctioned last week at Sydney was £lO 7s 6d per bale, or 8.44 pence per lb.
