HOCKEY
WANGANUI ASSOCIATION LADIES’ TOURNAMENT. DRAW FOR TO-MORROW. The Wanganui Hockey Association will stage a ladies’ tournament to-mor-row on Gonville Park, play commencing at 1.45 p.m. Any team not ready to take the field at the appointed time will be compelled to forfeit. Points will count as follow:—Two for a win, one for a draw. Each section must find its winner prior to competing in the section semifinals. Penalty corners count half a point. The following referees are requested to be present at the commencement of the tournament:—Messrs. Goring, Tizard, Hughes, Thompson. Tarr, Oldridge, Spurdie, Howartson, Hillgrove, Upton, Atkins, A. WESLEY CLUBS WELLINGTON v. WANGANUI. The first hockey match of the season for the Wesley Shield, will take place to-morrow at Gonville, No. 1 ground at 2 p.m. between the Wesley Clubs of Wellington and Wanganui. These clubs have met on five previous Wellington winning three of the matches and Wanganui one, while the other match was drawn.
