On the 16th and J 7th of last month lhe Court of Appeal heard the application of Walter Anderson Clifton for a new trial of both counts of an indictment charging him with indecent assault which was tried at Wellington on October 31 and November I last, when ho was found guilty. lhe Court this morning delivered reserved judgment and dismissed Clifton’s application. Their Honours held that after carefully considering all of tho evidence they wero unable to come to any conclusion other than that the application should be dismissed. Clifton was ordered to surrender himself for sentence on Monday next at 9.30 a.m. Decision Reserved. The Court of Appeal reserved its decision in the case of the Palmerston North City Council v.
