RELIEF OF DISTRESS
CHILDREN’S EFFORT COLLECTION FOR THE NEED? One of the very commendable tures of the present relief schema which is operating in Wanganui it 1 that the children are playing a part. At the Gonville School quite a large collection of vegetables, clothing, elr.. has made its appearance and a bij drive for donations of this type is to • be completed to-day. During the past day or so children of all ages have made appeals, and it has been amusing to see some of them trying to walk comfortably carrying huge pumpkin* and vegetables of a like nature, in their arms. The kiddies appn | ate th* genuineness of the cause and are c<* operating in the big city scheme. GIFTS ACKNOWLEDGED WANGANUI EAST EFFORT The committee of the Unemployment Central Relief Fund wishes to extend its thanks to the residents of Wanganui East for donations of food, cloth ing, etc., collected by Mr. R. B. Horsley, with the help of the Boy Scouts. Clothing and boots form a very acceptable donation these days, as tbn wearing apparel of those in distress i* in sore need of replenishment.
