In order to put a stop to the whispering, Director Stephen Roberts had to explain to the crowd through a microphone. that the run was called for in the script.

Gordon Harker is unique, as his nearest rival is the inimitable Herbert Mundin. who spent some seasons in Australia, and also visited New Zealand. On his returning to England he figured on the Hippodrome programme as principal comedian to the Co-optim-ists. but soon drifted into pictures and has since appeared with outstanding su e-s in both American and English productions. Both those artists purvey a brand of humour peculiarly English. and are at present so much in demand, that producers are ever readv ♦o offer good round sums for their services.
