The Last Plunge!

“RINTY” WONDERS WHO WILL j EE FIRST NEXT SEASON ) i

Dearest Wendy. I was very pleased to see my letter in print on Saturday, and thoroughly enjoyed reading “Peter Pan Ji's article on Daylight Saving. I have also enclosed a few words on this important subject, which J hope will be acceptable. I was sorry to see New Zealand fall with such a beating as she received at the Hands of the M.C’.C. team. Of course, New Zealand could not expect to beat such a worldgained team, and it is all to New Zealand’s experience wliero the world} of cricket is concerned. A friend and I went to the pictures, and saw Gene Gerrard in “Out of the Blue,” and it was a rattling good comedy. J am not altogether in favour of comedies, but I do enjoy a good English comedy such as that now and again. I believe that, “Shining Cuckoo” tuox “Girl of the Woods,” to the pictures, too, and 1 could bear them laughing, so they must have enjoyed it. J. can hear someone say, “Silence, quite ’nui7 said.” Well, Wendy, the baths closed on Friday, so until next November, I will be a lost person. The custodian lot a few of us in on Saturday morning at 7 a.m. and we had a great time. J was the last one in the baths this season. I wonder who will be the first in next season? 1 counted up the swims I have had this season, and they total 130. We arc at present listening to a church service from. Dunedin. Did you have any pranks played on you on Saturday? 1 didn't but I rang father up on the ’phone, and when he answered, I supplied the appropriate compliment, and rang off. He was not to be outdone though, and said I was an April fool for getting up early and going swimming. I have just receive : the results of another book of English from the I.C.S. and this time I gained 92 per cent. Well, Wendy, T nave given you all the available news, so 1 will close. Love to you and al! my co-Ites.—l remain, “KINTY, ” Taihape. Many thanks for your views upon Daylight Saving. The visit of the M.C.C. team will have taught our cricketers much that will be of immense value to them in the future. What a long time to wait ere the baths reopen. You are a real enthusiast, indeed. Bravo! you did well with your English. Forge ahead, dear.—Wendy.
