WANGANUI REFEREES
MEETING OF MEMBERS. NEW SEASON’S OFFICIALS. Before a full attendance of members the annual meeting of the 'Wanganui Rugby Referees’ Association was hei • at °the Cosmopolitan Club rooms last night. The retiring president, Mr. W. H. Rowe, at the commencement of the meeting, paid a tribute to the memory of the late Mr. Louis Cohen, and members stood in silence as a mark of respect. A motion of sympathy is to he forwaided to the relatives of Mr. Coh on. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. P. Wilson and S. Cass. One new nomination for membership was received. Election of officers resulted as follow: —President, Mr. .1. M. Richardson; vice president, Mr. W. Stone; secretary, Mr. W. K McElwain; assistant secretary, Mr. W. R. Day; executive, Messrs. W. H. Eowe, G. Thrush, K. Waite; appointment board, Messrs. F. C. Atkinson and W. J. Stone; representative on Sub-Union, Mr. W. RMcElwain; auditor, Mr. H. Hague Smith; area appointment board, Mr. W. J. Stone. Mr. W. .T. Stone offered a cap for presentation to the most improved referee for the season 1933.
