LONDON DEMAND LESS ACTIVE. CHEESE MARKET QUIET. There was a marked improvement in the prices of New Zeaand and Australian butter in London last week, on th c report, not yet substantiated, that Australia had agreed to restrict exports. New Zealand salted butter closed steady on Friday at 77s to 80s an advance of 6s a cwt. on the week. Australian, at 76s to 78s, showed a rise of 6s to 7s. On. the other hand, Danish butter, at 96s to 98s, suffered a decline of 2s to 4s a cwt., the retail price being reduced to Is, the New Zealand price remaining unchanged at lOd a lb. Rowson, London:—Cheese: Deliveries, New Zealand and Australian, 22.281 crates; Canadian, 3251 boxes. Stock, New Zealand and Australian, 79,774 crates; Canadian, 95,977 boxes. Price, white, 445; coloured, 51s. The demand is moderate and the market is steady. Butter: First grade, 77s to 78s. finest grade, 78s to 795. The demand has decreased.
