AVENUE CLUB SUCCESS CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED UiTEBESTING POLO FINAL. 41 One of the largest attendances recorded at a club night during the pres- j ent season was registered at the weekly “splash” of the Avenue Swimming Club last Thursday, two factors in ensuring this support being the decision wf the club championships and the staging of the polo championship final between Central and Gonville. In addition, there was the SBO yards district championship to be decided. The weather was ideal and water conditions were as near perfect as could be wished. The polo championship final provided some of the best positional play seen in the present season’s competition, Gonville demonstrating such superiority as to win by three goals to one. The BSO yards district championship resulted in Bullivant winning from Haworth and Reid. Results of the clnb championships were as follow: — Junior girls’ 25 yards.—W. Northover 1, Jean Tutty 2. Junior bovs’ 25 yards.—K. Harrison 1, Jack Tutty 2. Intermediate girls’ 50 yards.—R. Bpsemergy 1, K. Reid 2. Intermediate boys’ 50 yards.—A. Hejtth 1. M. Hart 2. Ladies’ 50 yards.—Miss G. Dow die 1.
