PERSONAL Air. A. J. Heibner, sole teacher at Pukcroa, has resigned. Aliss N. Al. Sefton has been appointed sole teacher at Pakihikura School. Mr. and Airs. J. H. Hardie and family left Alangaonoho for Ohakune on Wednesday. Air. R. Thorby, of Wellington, is visiting his parents, Air- and Airs. F. GThorby, Hunterville. Air. N. A. Giddings will take up duty in charge of Otairi School when tuition resumes on Wednesday next. Aliss Al. Cochrane, dental nurse, has arrived in Hunterville to resume duty at the local dental clinic. Mr. A. J. Ratcliff, for some years teacher at Rata School, has been appointed head teacher at Durie Hill. The funeral of the late Air. A. H. Wilson took place at Foxton on Wednesday, a large number of people paying their last respects at the graveside. CROQUET The draw for Tuesday’s A and B games is as follows: — Afesdamcs Abel and Goebel; Mesdamcs Powell and Dickie; Alcsdames Wotten and Thorby; Alcsdames G. Stratford and Wilson; Alcsdames C. Stratford and Follas; Mrs. Green a bye. UNEMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE The executive of tho Unemployment Committee met on Thursday night, Mr. W. H. Bowick presiding. Also present: Afessrs W. O’Brien, N. Boyne, R. A. Gordon, D. D. Simpson, E. J. Hurley (secretary), R. M. S. Jones. The Unemployment Board wrote stating that every encouragement shout I be given to unemployed men to obtain work on their own account. The Unemployment Board notified that ragwort eradication may still be carried out under schemes 4zY and 5 (over tho fence)* Other routine correspondence from the Unemployment Board was read. Six applications under 4A scheme were approved and seven under 4B scheme. The fiields officer had inspected and approved the contracts. Thc certifying officer reported that £2l was available under No. 5 scheme next week and a “cut” would probably be necessary.
