STERLING AND DOLLAR. Received Dee. 16, 7.10 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 15. The pound sterling closed 5-Bths of a cent higher at 3.29 1-8 dollars for cables. The Canadian dollar was 5-16ths. of a cent, higher at 86 13-16 cents.
