A Nazi, Major-General Litzmann, the oldest deputy, at the opening of the Reichstag, amid cheers and jeers, all the Nazis being in full uniform except himself, declared that President Hindenberg’s refusal to give Herr Hitler power was pre-arranged, and added that the present regime would lead to chaos and foreign isolation.
