The death of Eugene Brieux. play wright, is announced in a message from Air. E. F. Hemingway, chairman oi the Wanganui Education Board, and Air. W. H. Swanger, secretary, are at present on a tour of inspection of schools between Turaldnrt and Na tional Park, Squadron-Leader M. C. AlcGregor, who was seriously injured at the Alii son Aerodrome on Saturday, was reported by tho Palmerston North Hospital authorities to be in a satisfactory condition at mid-day yesterday. He had spent a . omfoftablp night. Guests registered at Foster’s Hotel yesterday include: Air ,W. Georgetti (Hawke’s Bay); Air C. Lamberg, Air F. Desmond, Air Henry Orr, Air Arthur F. Turnbull, Air A. G. Hodder, and Air A. McFarlane (Wellington), and Air Norton Francis (Christchurch).
Father W. E. O'Donnell, of Wai pawa, a brother of Air. C. B. 0 Don nell, of Wellington, returned by the Marama from the Eucharist Congres.and a subsequent tour of Great Bri tain and tho Continent. He was ac companied by his sister. Afiss E. O'Donnell. Air. A. Urquhart, who resigned recently as one of the Otago Centre’s delegates, has been reappointed to the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. He will repre sent the West Coast. (North Island; Centre, filling the vacancy caused by the transfer of Air. V. Hugo to Auckland. Air. Diquiiart is a valued official, and the hope was expressed at tho last meeting he attended that it would not be long before he had a seat on the council again.
