With a view to giving some relief from the ever-increasing burden ot rates, the Taranaki County Council has passed a resolution asking that not less than 12J per cent, of the motor taxation revenue should be paid to county councils for the maintenance of roads other than main and secondary high wavs. It was pointed out that with the increasing motor traffic it was not equitable that adjacent land owners should have to provide the roads for ali traffic. At the Morrinsville Jersey S Club’s meeting last month Mr. More land explained that few farmers were ever likely to see the high-record cow 3 in the flesh, so it would be of grea* educative value to have motion pic tures exehibited. The Jersey Association could send the films and a projector round the 40 Jersey clubs in New Zealand. The films would make club meetings much more interesting.
