VISIT TO LANCASHIRE [ British Official Wireless.] Received Nov. 25, 5.5 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 24. The Prince of Wales, during a tour of th© Lancashire industrial towns, visited the centre of the coalmining industry, the town of Wigan, and the great shipping and commercial centre of Liverpool. He travelled from Knowsley, wher e ho was the guest of the Earl of Derby, to St. Helens, the famous glassmaking town, and wag accorded a rapturuous public reception. The Prince visited different institutions designed to ameliorate the lot of the unemployed in th e Lancashire industrial areas, and had a long conversation with eight men from the miners’ rescue station, who did gallant work during the recent colliery disaster near Wigan, questioning them at length about their experiences and about the work in the mines generally.
