BRITISH DYE-MAKERS

COMMITTEE’S RECOMMENDATION { British Official Wireless.] Received Nov. 25, 6.10 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 24. A report issued by the dyestuffs industry development committee, recommends that the Dyestuffs Importation Regulation Act, 1920, be continued on the present basis for three years and that arrangements be made whereby British dye-makers would be able to obtain benzol, toluol and xylol at prices corresponding to those paid by dye-makers abroad. British makers are now able to meet about 90 per cent, by weight of the home demand for dyestuffs, compared with about 20 per cent, in 1913, while the value of the total exports last year was the highest since 1923.
