EDUCATION BOARD

BUSINESS OF THE MONTH REPORTS AND GENERAL BUSINESS. The Wanganu Education Board met on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. E. F. Hemingway presiding. There were also present Messrs. M. H. Oram, A. S. Coleman. J. S. Tingey, P. Munro, R. Dukeson, W. T. Benefield, J. Aitken and Col. Whyte. The chairman reported that a school was to be established at Tauwhata, at the top of the Wanganui River. A movable building had been given by the Taranaki board and the Wanganui board was to provide the furniture. Whatever side of the river the school might be placed, the children in some cases would have to be ferried across the river.
