JERSEY SUCCESSES
TWO BUTTER-FAT TESTS. The gold modal given by the South Australian Government for champion dairy cow of any breed, to be judged on official butter-fat production, has been won by Air. C. E. A r erco’s Jersey, “Melvin Duchess.” On her last lacta tion period she put up the State Jer scy record for a senior three-year-old of 554.901 b. of butter-fat in 273 days. Her record at the Adelaide Royal Show is excellent. As a three-year-old, in milk, she was first in her class and reserve champion cow. As a four-year old dry she was placed first and awarded the champion ribbon. The gold medal given by the South Australian Government for a bull of any breed, judged on the official but-ter-fat production of the dam, com petition being restricted to champion in each breed, was also won by a Jersey, owned by Airs.
