GREYMOUTH BOMB

STRENGTH OF THE EXPLOSION [ Per Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, Nov. I. A search this morning revealed that last evening a bomb was placed between two stacks of stringers in the railway yard. The space between the stacks measures 24 feet by 10 feet. The explosion made a hole over two feet deep and four to five feet wide. The indications are that the explosive was placed in a tin with a fuse attached. Interviewed, Inspector Lopdell said that the police were in the dark as much as the public. It was impossible to interpret the mind of the madman or fool, and “when you seek to find design in these things you are baffled.”
