PALMERSTON MEETING PROTEST AGAINST BILL ( Per Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., Oct. 31. At a largely attended meeting of snperannuatants under the various Government superannuation funds, the fol lowing resolution was carried: “That we enter an emphatic, protest against proposals tho Government have em bodied in tho Bill now before Parliament seeking to abrogate our rights conferred by Acts of Parliament rights which we have worked and paid for. We desire to emphasise the fact that the effect of such an act of repudiation as that proposed, will bo detrimental to the credit of the Dominion and will be sure to engender distrust in any Government undertaking, and will be harmful to tho best interests of the Government services. We confidently rely on our representatives in Pa ilia ment to uphold the honour of our Do innion and the sanctity of contracts.”
