MELBOURNE CUP HORSES FLEMINGTON NOTES. Received Oct. 31. 7.30 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 31. There was dull and threatening weather at Flemington this morning. On the tan BeauniUv ran a mile in Imin 51sec, and. easing up. a mile and a-half in 2min 53see. Shadow King sprinted half a mile in 55sec. Peter Pan au*l Denis Boy did serviceable work. Lough Neagh ran a mile and a-half at evens, the. last half-mile in 57sec. Manawhenua and Horowhenua sprinted three furlongs in 38jsec. Compris did half a mile in 59sec. At Caulfield this morning Gaine Carrington and Peter Jackson did useful work on the sand. Yarramba ran live furlongs in Imin 7aec. Rogilla did striding. On the tan Ibrani ran three furlongs in 37see., Rulanut and Lady Pam a similar distance in 38see. H. Skidmore rides Liberal. A. Knox Yarramba. E. Baxter Shadow King, and W. Duncan, Peter Pan in the Melbourne Cup. Turbine was galloped on in the Derby tnd injured a hoick. The weather forecast for Cup day is •nol and cloudy, with occasional •bowers. R. Lewis will ride Prince Dayton in the Cup. This is his 34th. mount in the race. S. Murphy, trainer, states that The Dawn Patrol is unlikely to be a runner in the Cup. Induna ran five furlongs in 1.7. Hunt the Slipper ran six furlongs in 1.20. Green Wave ran three furlongs in 374. Liberal visited the beach to-day and is reported to be well. The Cup starting time is 3.40 p.m.
