Mrs. P. McMorran, of Auckland, is; a guest at Koster’s Hotel. i Mr. and Mrs. D. Coghill Peacock are Wellington visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. C. Linwood, of New Plymouth, are visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. d’H. Barclay, St. John’s Hill, are visiting the South Island. Mrs. Porritt and Miss M. Porritt have returned to Stratford after a few days spent in Wanganui with Mrs. Cullen and Miss W. Norman, Durie Hill. Miss Molly McDonald has returned to Wanganui after a holiday of two months spent at Russell, Auckland, and the Waikato district. Mrs. Webster, of Wellington, is staying with her sister, Miss D. Taylor, Campbell Street. Mrs. W. Tye, “The Vicarage,” Durie Hill, leaves to-day for a holiday in Plimmerton, where she will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Belton. Mr. and Mrs. Kingston. St. John’s Hill, who have been visiting their daughter, Mrs. L. Hancock, at Stratford, have returned. Misses Olga G. and F. P. Lovett, of Bulls, and Mrs. J. W. Walton, of Patca, were recent callers at New Zealand House, London, states the New Zealand News, London, under date September 20. At “Colleens” Those who love beautiful and exclusive pottery, china and linen will revel in the lovely production that have been personally chosen by “Colleen,” Broadway Buildings, for her opening display in Wanganui. There are Liberty linens, lawns and brilliants in delightful colourings. Then there is quaintly designed pottery, exquisite Dresden china, Minton, Carlton handpainted china, also hand-made brassware.—P.B.A. St. Laurence’s Sale of Work Much interest is being taken in the

annual sale of work which the members of the St. Laurence’s Church Ladies’ Guild, Aramoho, are holding in the church hall next Thursday, November 3. The guild has in the past had much help from its many friends, and it is hoped that there will be many buyers of the useful attractive articles on the various stalls. The sale of work will be officially opened by the Mayoress at 2.30 and it is announced that no raffles or guessing competitions will be held. Tn the evening a grand concert will bo held, particulars of which arc advertised elsewhere. Among those contributing to the programme are the well-known entertainers. Rev. and Mrs. Lambert, and Mrs. U. GWilliams.
