BOWLING FIXTURES. This year the South Taranaki bowl ing shield competition will be played in two divisions, Wednesday and Saturday. The draw for the first round is: Wednesday Division. —November 2: Park W v. Hawera W. at Park, Opun akc v. Alanaia at Opunakc. November 16; Alanaia v. Park at Mauaia, Hawera W vj Opunakc at Hawera. November 23: Opunakc v. Park at Opunakc; Manaia v. Hawera W at Alanaia. Saturday Division.—November 5: Hawera No. 2 v. Hawera No. 1 at Hawera; Park S v. I’atca at Park. November 19: Park S v. Hawera No. 2 at Park; Hawera No. 1 v. Patea at Hawera. November 26: Hawera No. 2 v. Park at Hawera; Hawera No. 1 v. Palea at Patea. Hayward, 3s 8d; Patea Harbour Board v. R. and H. Hayward, 2s 7d; E. J. Brickie v. H. W. Lacey, £2 2s 6d. Orders on judgment summons was made in the following cases:—W. AL and A. B. Cunningham v. C. Broughton, claim for £4 Bs, ordered to pay the amount forthwith. In a defended civil case, J. Wright v. W. Reed, claim for £4 4s, Air. Salmon gave judgment for £2 2s only, which meant that each side paid half the cost of the lease. Police Cases. Alac Heal was charged with being in possession of an unregistered firearm. He was convicted and fined 10s and costs 10s. A. F. Reid was charged with receiving property well knowing the same to have been dishonestly obtained. De feifclant pleaded guilty and was admit ted to probation for 12 months. Albert E. Fear was charged with driving a motor-vehicle without holding a motor driver’s license. He was convicted and ordered to pay costs only. J. F. O’Grady was convicted for non-

payment of his unemployment levy and lined £1 and costs 10s.

A youth was charged with breaking, entering and theft. Ho was committed to Borstal at Invercargill for a period not exceeding two years on each charge; to be concurrent.
