TAUMARANUI INQUIRY. If it would be possible for the West orii Federated Flying (’lub to under take training* of pilots in Taumaranui, either weekly or fortnightly, was a query put in a letter from Mr. L. G. (•odlrey to Thursday’s meeting x)f the council in Hawera. Mr. Godfrey men tioned’ that several enthusiasts who were prospective trainees had discussed the matter and the letter was forwarded as an inquiry. Air. J. R. Franklin said it was dif ficult territory and he ixoubted whethei the federation would be justified in en tertaining the proposal. Captain Gibbons mentioned that air currents find access to the landing field were distinctly hazardous. his opinions of the facilities for flying in Taumarunui being confirmed bv Fl vinoOfficer Keith. It was decided to reply to Mr. God frey stating that training of pilots at Taumarnuni was impracticable.
