CONFERENCE CONTINUED. [ Per Press Association.} CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 14. I The Baptist Conference was continued to-day. The Rev. Carlyle expressed his inteni tion of conducting a positive evangel ' ism without trespassing upon the rights lof others. An evangelistic committee, | consisting of Mr. J. R. Carey (chair j man), the Revs. L. J. Boulton, Smith. lE. N. G. Goring, and Messrs Ernest, | Ness and A. T. Kelly, will control this j department of Union activity. Acting i on the recommendation of the Baptist ’ Union Council, the Assembly decided to I appoint the Rev. J. J. Carlysle, of In , vercargill, as Dominion evangelist for : 12 months. The executive committee of | the Baptist Union is the Rev. North i (president). Messrs F. W. Gaze, F. W. I Bardslev, Rev. Lascelles (secretary). I Revs. W. E. Lambert, L. J. Boulton ■ Smith, A. W. Stuart, Messrs J. RI Carey, F. W. Horner, and W. H. Newton. ; The Young People’s Department report stated that the Avondale Baptist I Sunday School. Auckland, hnd won the | shield for the highest percentage of I marks in the annual Scripture exnmina ! tion.
