BUSINESS WOMEN
Womcq in business to-day are a commonplace, but the woman who sets up her own business and runs it without male aid is still looked upon ‘»s something of a curiosity and a marvel, says a South African writer. It will probably, therefore, surprise many people in Cape Town to hear that one of the best-known commercial houses in the city, which has been in existence for the past 50 years, has been built up and managed entirely by women. The modern and up-to-date window that fronts a showroom marks yet another stage of an interesting and romantic story, a story that goes back nearly 100 years and begins in a little shop in London. This shop developed in a number of directions not intended at first, and is now still “run” by women and for women.
