WAITOTARA
LADIES' RUGBY. On Saturday a match will be played on the local Domain between Palea and a Wairoa fifteen. As the proceeds will go towards the purchase of a set of Plunkct scales it is to be hoped that a bumper crowd will witness the fixture. In a match last week played between these two teams at Patea, £26 was taken at the gate. It is hoped that the financial side of this fixture will be as successful. The curtain-raiser will be played between (wo ladies’ teams — Patea and Waitotara. This promises to be a game of frills, thrills and spills. The first match alone should be worth the modest “bob” demanded. The ladies’ team will be chosen from the following:—Miss M. Edwards, L. Wroe, S. Travers, G. Fitzgerald, L, Travers, E. Symes, B. Simpson, C. Sturmcy, A. Wroe, J. Wakarua, S. Tamou, R. Soloman, S. McConnchy. A. Brown, Al. Sturmey, T. Hurley, D. Bartz. The next, and final, dance to be hold by the Waitotara Football Club will take place on September 7. This promises to bo the best held this winter.
