SENATE AMENDMENTS
GOVERNMENT DEFEATED Received Aug. 11, 9.5 p.m. DUBLIN, Aug. 11. The Senate sat specially to consider the Dail’s rejection of its amendments to the Control of Manufactures Bill. The Government was defeated by 24 votes to 17 on a motion that the Senate does not insist on its amendments, meaning that if the Dail disagrees the Bill will automatically be delayed for 18 months.
