DAMAGES AWARDED

MOTOR ACCIDENT SEQUEL [ Ter Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Aug. I. An accident at Kilbirnie on the evening of. May 19 last, in which Charles Richard Ingram, retired public servant of Rongotai, was struck by a motor-car and injured, had a sequel in a claim for £BOO damages against Robert George Thompson, salesman of Miramar, which was concluded before Mr. Justice MacGregor and a jury evening. A verdict was returned in favour of Ingram and awarding £4OO damages. The car was being driven by a son of Thompson, who was sitting alongside him. The son gained his driver’s license the next day. Evidence was given indicating that plaintiff walked across the street and was struck by tho oncoming car. Thompson, in evidence, said he took Ingram home and offered to get a doc tor, but. Ingram declined, saying it was his own fault. This was denied by Ingram ’s wife.
