Although only two points ahead at the interval Technical showed splendid combination in the second half and repeatedly found loopholes in the defence of the local side, states the Manawatu Daily Times. Brilliant cutting in by Welsh, tho first five-eighth, was a feature of tho scoring movements. From a scrum they carried down to the School line, but a penalty afforded the defenders temporary relief. The first score came when Trask found an opening and flashed over to secure a good try, Welsh converting. School then invaded, Payne cutting in to advantage before ho was halted by a good tackle. School attempted to retaliate but Technical were combining well at this stage, the inside men repeatedly finding loopholes in the School rearguard. They took the ball down tho lino and Welsh secured from the ruck to cross in tho corner for a further unconverted try. Another bright try came a few miuuLoe later, Welsh cutting out several men to make an easy opening for Burr. who finished near the posts. Welsh converted. The final score fur Technical was a break away try by Welsh when he secured in his own territory and dummied successfully to make his way clear for a try.
