GENERAL NEWS There ar© at present 100 single men employed at. Makow r hai camp, and the work is proceeding satisfactorily. In spite of the rough weather the men are very comfortable, the camp being well sheltered and the heating and other necessary appliances fulfilling requirements.

Improvements have been effected in th© school grounds at Ohakea, the removal of a shed allowing the play area to be mad© suitable for football and other games. A basketball equipment has been provided and the School Committee have purchased a new piano for the school. Mr. H. Bowen, of Parewanui, purchased two high grade pedigree heifers at the sale of Mr. A. J. Smith’s stock, held at Cardiff, Taranaki, and is building up a fino herd.
